I have an electric swingline stapler and I need the correct size staple to repair & replace cushions on a pool table.

All staplers are slightly different, and without knowing the exact model you own, we cannot advise on the staples that fit your stapler.

For reupholstering, most people use a staple gun similar to the Stanley Sharp Shooter

The Sharp Shooter delivers high power and deep penetration for heavy-duty tacking jobs. It has an easy-squeeze handle which reduces hand fatigue and an anti-jam mechanism.

i have a swingline saddle stapler that takes--or used to--s.f.15 staples. will the s.f. 13 1/4' work, or some other universal staple? thank you.

According to the manufacturer, the S.F. 15 staples are no longer manufactured and they recommend using the S.F. 4 staples as the best replacement. However, the manufacturer did mention you may experience some jamming with these staples and they may not work as smoothly as the S.F. 15's, but they are the best replacement for the discontinued S.F. 15's.

I have a Swingline #13 stapler and I tried using S.F.-1 staples in it, but they just jam-up. Do I need true S.F.-13 staples for this particular stapler ? Thanks

Swingline recommends using S.F. 4 Premium Staples in your #13 stapler. They are designed specifically to fix your problem, and ensure premium performance of Swingline Staplers. The chisel points are precision engineered to reduce jams.

IN HEAVY DUTY STAPLES, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN S.F.39 AND S.F.13? WHAT DOES THE S.F. STAND FOR?
asked by RICHARD on August 2, 2014

S.F. stands for stands Speed Faster, the old name for this line of Swingline Staples.

S.F. 39 staples are for older, discontinued heavy-duty staplers Swingline Staplers 415, 900xd 390nx. They are made of thicker wire and have shorter points than the newer S.F. 13 staplers. S.F. 13 staples are specifically designed for current lineup of manual Swingline Heavy-Duty Staplers.

Swingline does not recommend using S.F 13 or S.F. 39 staples in staplers from other manufacturers. Some staplers are designed to operate with staples make of thicker or thinner wires. If S.F. staples are too thin for the stapler, they won't completely discharge or pierce the whole stack. If S.F. staples are too thick, they will cause your stapler to jam.

Incidentally, S.F. 1, 3 and 4 Staples are for designed for basic 20-sheet capacity staplers. S.F. 3 and 4 staples will work great in most standard staplers. However, S.F. 1 staples are only recommended for older Swingline Staplers due to the relatively thick wire and short points.
