I have been using the 747 for many years. It is a workhorse around my office and it has a couple of features that make it really handy. First off you can open the stapler by unlocking the bottom of the stapler and opening so you can staple on bulletin boards easily. Secondly this stapler has a neat feature that allows you to create a staple that the staple legs go out, instead of pointing to the inside. It is easy to use and all you have to do is press on the staple receiving tray to an open position, and the way you rotate the staple receiving tray is by pressing the button on the bottom of the stapler. When a staple is entered in the open position it makes it easy to take out the staple with your fingers and you do not have us use a staple remover.
Our office ordered the Swingline 747 stapler for all of our staff and it has worked out great! We really like the durability of the stapler. We work in a rough environment where our office supplies often hit the concrete floor and the Swingline 747 stapler has continued to work even after being dropped. It is rugged and durable and our staff definitely recommends this product. Of course, if you are stapling thick packets then this stapler is not applicable. We use it for stapling packets that are generally 15 to 20 pages thick. We noticed that at 20 pages, it can be a little tough to staple, depending upon the thickness of the paper (we use paper with different thicknesses in our office).
