How do these locks work?

The Masterlock Speed Dial Combination Lock works by movement.  You set the combination by moving the lock when it is open and it can be moved to the right, to the left, up or down.  So you would open the lock and set three movements to which ever way you would choose (i.e. 2 movements to the right and 1 to the left).  Close the lock and then when you want to open the lock you would move 2 to the right and 1 to the left.

Actully it is a pretty cool product and the good news is that it will confuse most people who would want to break into this lock.  Not too many people know how to open this lock and there is no combination or lock to pick.  Hope this helps!
