I was not very impressed with this highlighter. When if first received it I was pretty pumped about trying it. After using, not so much. The gel glides on smoothly, but it takes practice it highlight what you want because there isn't a "tip" to use. It is a flat wide tip and the first time I used it to highlight a line, I highlighted the line below because you can't really tell where you are marking. It is more like using a crayon. The highlight line is not sharp but kind of smeary. The color is a great yellow fluorescent. The only pro that I can find.
I love this highlighter! The gel seems to just glide on the paper. It is a nice color to use to bring attention to a vocabulary word or whatever needs highlighting.
This gel highlighter has quickly become my go-to highlighter. I don't have to worry about it bleeding through my paper since it's not ink. That makes it so much more useful as I don't have to worry about ruining the paper/other things. Plus, it doesn't dry up like other highlighters. You simply turn the gel up or down to use and put away. I do wish it had a tip that made it easier to jot down a word with, but it's great for basic highlighting.
I LOVE THIS HIGHLIGHTER! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
This highlighter goes on nice and light, but it is bright! Gel Highlighter also does not blur any of the ink on the paper unlike other highlighters. Also, ink from the paper does not leave residue on the bullet tip. I would recommend this highlighter to anyone!
A M A Z I N G Highlighter!!!!
I love to highlight when I am reading. I loved that this highlighter was a gel. In my opinion is was so much easier to use & it didn't smear. What an amazing product.
I have used these new gel highlighters in the past and was not impressed by them at all. This Sharpie Gel is so much different though!! This one glides so nicely! I have thrown away the other gel highlighters and will only be using these from now on.
This is the ideal highlighter to use for Bible study and documents printed by ink jet printers. It does not bleed through thin pages, smudge or leave residue. (If you remember the older Skilcraft crayon-like highlighters, these left residue and could tear a page if you were not careful. Not so, with this gel highlighter by Sharpie.)
I am routinely highlighting in four different Bibles (ESV, NRSV, NASB and JPS) and I won't use any other highlighter. I mention this because I have not had issues with a wide variety of publishers and the papers they use. (And this highlighter is just as good as traditional highlighters on regular books.)
Also, I print out a lot of documents and if I need to highlight, this gel highlighter will not smear the ink as a traditional highlighter might.
Bottom line: This is a fantastic product. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
I have used this product for a couple years now and I find that it is useful in some situations and not so much in others. I do a lot of highlighting legal documents and it's great when there's big sections to highlight. It doesn't fade, bleed through the paper, or smudge. The down side to this is it's difficult to highlight smaller sections in a large body of text due to the tip being so wide. It also has a waxy feel to it and it is difficult to write on top of it with pen or pencil in case you need to make notes.
