2" furniture casters are one size too small which size should I look for?

Thanks for your question.

The best way to choose the correct caster for your needs is by measuring the stem of one of your existing casters that need replacing.

I have attached a link to a guide which should help with your selection.

If you need further assistance, or need to order a special order caster ( non returnable), please call our friendly customer service center on 866-501-6055,.

Is it possible to get ONE caster for a chair. 4 out of 5 are fine - one is broken. Nothing indicates that this can be done through you. If not is there anyone who sells them individually.

Master Caster does not offer single safety casters, but they sell them by the set of 4 or 5.  The main reason they do this is so the chair will sit evenly on the floor, and all casters will have the same "wear and tear."  Kind of like tires on a car.  Hope this makes sense.

Now the good news is that we have these casters in stock for same day shipping and your delivery will be there in 1-2 business days.  Plus we do offer a low flat rate shipping of $7.95 and if you order more than $75.00 we will provide FREE shipping!

I need to replace the casters on a used Ikea Verner office Chair. They are eating into my wood floors. I am not sure what size I need. The stem is 3/4" long.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your question about chair casters. I think we can help you.

First, we can narrow down wheel style. All wood floors require soft wheel casters. These won't damage your floor, and and prevent your chair from sliding around too much on the smooth surface.

Figuring out the right stem is a little trickier. The first thing to do is check out the chair base. Is it wood, metal, or wood clad (metal with a wood or simulated wood cover)?

If your chair has a wooden base, you'll need W stems. You can order soft wheel W Stem Casters here

If your chair has a metal or wood clad base, you'll have to remove one of your current casters and measure the stem. The best way to measure the diameter is to wrap a string around the stem, then measure that length. Most stems have either a 7/16" or 3/8" diameter. After measuring the diameter, measure the length to get the proper stem type.

C, K and B Master Caster Stems

If your current stem is longer than the options in the diagram, that's ok. You can use a stem shorter than your original. Only the diameters have to match.

Hope this answers your question!

The stem of my caster is 3/8x1&1/2" The goove is 1" down from the top of the stem. Are you able to tell me the type of stem that I have so that I can order the right casters. My casters now are for use on a chair mat, black hooded with split wheels. I need a set of five. Thank you,

Is sounds like you need K-Stem casters, but you should match the length and diameter of your stem to the diagram below.

Caster Stem Diagram

To determine the length, you only need to measure the part of the stem exposed above the wheel. It doesn't matter whether your current casters have rounded or flat tops. As long as the length and diameter are the same, the new casters will fit your chair.

You can shop our dual wheel, K-Stem casters for chair mats here.

Does anyone make low rider casters for short people whose feet won't reach the floor in an office chair with standard casters?

Low profile casters are not available. If you need to lower the height of your chair, try low-profile bell glides MAS70179 or MAS70178.

I was very happy with the website, product, and services. had useful tools for the shopper so that I could understand the measurements, see the matching product and a description for use of the replacement wheels I purchased. I researched many websites trying to find replacement wheels and offered everthing I needed to be a wise and precise shopper. They offered a set of 5 wheels for my special, dearly loved office chair. The wheels are a high quality and I will purchase from again. Thanks so much for the quick delivery too.

Not the soft type of caster I expected, just marginally better than the ones on the chair.

Exactly as described. Easy to install. Office chair is like new. Too soon to tell about durability. Construction appears similar to OEM casters.

They roll smooth, look great, and best of all they are quiet . Installation was very easy because you just flip your chair up so you can easily pull off the old casters. (Make sure you use a paper towel because the old casters can be a little greasy and grimy.) Take the caster ball, push in the stem into the caster ball and then just put the caster into the chair base. If you hear the click then you know it was installed correctly!
