Does this pen have pigmented or dye ink? Is it smudge free and resistant to check washing?

These pens are oil based. This allows them to soak into the paper and dye it so that it is almost impossible to get text off of a check without the correct solvent. In other words the check is smudge resistant and resistant to check washing.
