The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requires that paper towel dispensers be mounted at a height that is accessible to individuals with disabilities. The operable parts of the dispenser should be no higher than 48 inches (1220 mm) above the floor if the approach is from the front, and no higher than 54 inches (1370 mm) if the approach is from the side. Additionally, the dispenser should be operable with one hand and should not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist.
