To change the battery on the Sentry Safe, slide open the battery drawer on the right side of the keypad. Remove the old batteries and insert four new AA alkaline batteries and slide the drawer back in. To retract the metal bars, press and hold the small reset button inside the door frame or edge. While holding the button, enter your code to retract the bolts. If they do not retract, check for any misaligned metal parts and make sure the handle is fully horizontal before locking, then turn it fully counterclockwise to lock.
