I like them because they are helpful with reading. I read all the time and this pen dries quickly, and the major thing is that that when you put the tip on the paper it does not create blotches. Recently these highlighters have been runing out and drying up immediately, as in within 20 minutes of use. I order the supplies for our law firm and was told not to order Universal highlighters ever again because they are drying up too quickly. I am ordering Paper Mate and Bic next time to give those a try. We have used the Universal brand for the past 2 years and this is a recent problem (within the last month or so). I am an office secretary and I purchased these highlighters because I was just a dollar or two away from getting free shipping for my order. They were so cheap, so I was not too concerned about how they work but I have to admit that they aren't the greatest. They definitely do the job and the color assortment is nice but they are not that bright. I am used to using other brands of highlighters that have a much brighter color, but if that doesn't bother you, then I think they would be just fine. These are the plain yellow highlighters--not the fluorescent kind. Work great for basic yellow highlighting when you don't want to use the fluorescent.
